“Our performance is determined by the level of passion we apply and the progress we make”. The more passionate we are about what we are doing, the more likely we are to make the progress that we need and want in order to achieve our goals”. Jo Corbishley
To perform really well, in my opinion we need to really enjoy what we’re doing. When we truly enjoy what we are doing, things come much more easily and more naturally to us and we find ourselves becoming more productive and making far more progress than we would do if we did it because we had to.
Over the years and certainly more recently, I’ve began to realise the people and organisations who consistently outperform their colleagues and competitors are those who typically play to their strengths, know exactly what they want and then set themselves goals which they religiously monitor to see how they are doing.
Putting Progress at the Heart of Everything We DoGreat performances come from people, who truly understand who they are and what they want from their lives and careers and who put in place, focussed goals and strategies to help them to achieve them.
The reality is that it is often very difficult to step outside our circle of comfort and into that ‘stretch’ zone but when people do this, they tap into something really quite amazing; their potential and when this happens, they can go onto achieve anything. Often the reason why people won’t and don’t do this is because they set goals that are completely unrealistic and without plans to help them to achieve them. When they fail to achieve them, they lose their confidence in their ability to get what they want and so they settle for less.
The key to outstanding performance is incremental improvement; step by step progress, where individuals never lose their confidence.
How we can help you to improve your performance I help individuals and organisations to develop focussed performance plans that not only stretch them so they can achieve what they want in a shorter timeframe but more importantly; we scaffold their development so they are always in control which gives them that confidence that they can and will achieve their goals. We teach them the benefits of having a baseline from which to measure their performance against and then we help them to set ‘their’ baseline so they can see how close they are to their goals.
